Wanda Holopainen
Wanda Holopainen is an art activist, documentarian, and storyteller. Their artistic practice revolves around stories, memory, intimacy, and archives. Through their artistic endeavours, Wanda seeks to look into the existing archives and bring them back to life by capturing and recording the future history. They also aim to reimagine and unthink our world as we know it. Through lens-based work, mainly film, Wanda works with themes of silence, memory, intimacy, home, foundations of our society, archives and history, invisible and visible.
Currently based in Helsinki, Wanda also works part-time as a marketing specialist at Mad House Helsinki. In 2024 Wanda’s works can be seen in an exhibition with Naomi Holopainen and Priscilla Osei for the Finnish Museum of Photography in April, and in an exhibition with Naomi Holopainen and curator Yilin Ma for the Lou Gallery. Additionally, Wanda curates and coordinates a weekend program for the community radio, Ida Radio Helsinki.
