Back then, memories were still living creatures that you could have a discussion with – they were not voices in your ear or ghosts. Memories, unlike some gods, do not want to be named. Once they are named, they immediately change their appearance. If you see them, you can immediately see clearly everything that was ten years ago, 4,000 years ago and five seconds ago.

The One Who Looks at Streetlights died prematurely, so they got themselves a Doppelgänger. When the Doppelgänger was asked what it knew of the world, it answered: “It is said that there are invisible giant stars in the night sky.”
