Anna Atkins was an English botanist and photographer. Her work British Algae: Cyanotypic Impressions is considered as the first book illustrated with photographs. She is often mentioned as the first woman photographer.
Miia Autio (b. 1986, Reisjärvi) is a Finnish visual artist and photographer. Her works have been shown in several solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Autio is interested in collaboration and conversations as a part of her artistic practice. Her works often cover the fringes of society and consider the invisible and the essence of photography and knowledge. For her art is a way to explore and make connections.
