I made an analogue photo print of Aaron Carter’s TikTok video, and then he died.
I often approach image-making through some experimental method, with chance playing a big role in the outcome. I created these images by placing my phone in the darkroom enlarger, instead of using a film negative, and making analogue photo prints from screen-mediated videos.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, people believed that cameras could capture spirits of the dead and other paranormal phenomena. I entertain myself with the idea that maybe I could make something invisible visible with my new image-making technique. Different translation processes take place.
