Amanda Hunt
Amanda Hunt, known as A. Hunt, is an artist currently based in Helsinki, Finland. They create works that combine performance and sculpture to explore themes related to intimacy and its physical implications. As a performance artist, Hunt focuses on human interaction, emotion, and experience, which also influences their sculptures to be more than just inanimate objects. They use techniques such as mapping, tracing, and outlining to investigate the spatial and physical connections between objects and bodies.
Hunt’s works have been exhibited at various venues, including Mad House Helsinki, Joki Studio, Yö Galleria, Vantaa Art Museum, and Vapaan Taiteen Tila in Finland, as well as in NYC, Switzerland, Ireland, Germany, and Mexico. They have also participated in several artist residencies, such as Live Art Ireland (Tipperary, IE), Copper Leg Residency (Vaskjala, Estonia), and Cape Clear Island (West Cork, IE). Hunt holds a BA in Drama from the NYU Tisch School for the Arts, with a minor in Gender Studies. She will receive an MFA in Sculpture from the University of the Arts Helsinki in Fall 2024.
